Cut Backs

Tonight I got the news that I will no longer be needed at Swoozie's because the store sales have been so poor. If sales pick up, they may be able to hire me back. Yes I am disappointed, yet relieved at the same time. The extra money was nice, but it will also be great to have my weekends back. Now I can totally concentrate on school and perhaps I can develop two web sites instead of only one.

Back to School

Starting tonight, I will officially be going back to school at The Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg, IL. Through their Continuing Education Program, I will be going for a certificate in Web Site Development. I am really stoked about going back to school as I will be learning Flash and Dreamweaver - two very cool, and essential, programs to know. As I go on my daily search for full time employment, I am finding that a lot of employers expect you to know Flash and Dreamweaver as a graphic designer. I feel by completing this program (which runs 12 and a half weeks) I will be much more marketable as a graphic designer. As an incentive, the school is offering returning students a $1000 grant toward the tuition. My mom and grandparents have kindly offered to help me pay my tuition for this very important journey that I am about to embark on. As a bonus, I will be able to purchase the software I need at an educational discount. I can't wait to have Flash at home to experiment with! :) When the program is all said and done, I will have designed my very own web site. My Two New Jobs

My two new jobs are going well. My day job is at DesignPac in Melrose Park and my weekend job is at Swoozie's in Oak Brook. Car Accident

We were able to leave at 4:00 PM this past Friday and on my way home from work I got rear ended by a van!! The whole back bumper is smashed in and the rear windshield shattered upon impact. Notice how the van has virtually no damage to it!
